The Veil May be Lifting: What the Art Market Needs to Know About Current and Upcoming Disclosure and other Regulatory Requirements

November 12, 2021
3:15pm – 4:30pm
Virtual Conference

Howard N. Spiegler will be moderating a 2021 Art Law Day program by the Appraisers Association of America. The panel, entitled "The Veil May be Lifting: What the Art Market Needs to Know About Current and Upcoming Disclosure and other Regulatory Requirements," will analyze what regulations exist in the art market and which ones are likely just around the corner, and will suggest what best practices need to be in place when doing business in the art market. Historically, in the U.S. beginning with the antiquities trade, regulators have their eyes trained on the art market to prevent money-laundering and other criminal conduct. Regulators in Europe have imposed similar requirements as well. Howard will be joined by Victor J. Rocco (Partner, Herrick Feinstein LLP), Sandrine Giroud (Partner, Lalive SA) and Rena Neville Esq. (Director, Corinth Consulting).
